The 60th winner of the 1000 Guineas, held on Friday 2nd May 1873 over the Rowley Mile for the first time, was Cecilia (33/1), a bay filly by Blair Athol out of Siberia, owned by the 6th Viscount Falmouth. The winner won by 3/4 length in 1 minute 47 secs, with a neck back to the third. A field of 14 runners contested the race which was worth £2,900 (Equivalent to £301,600 in 2017)
